        This is a very fine  gar-like fish collected from the world famous Santana Fm in Brazil.  It was tenatively ID'd by the original collector as Vinctifer sp.)   This specimen was purchased roughly prepared, and I  finished the specimen as it is now.  This is a real beauty!

       The tail section is not missing, it twisted prior to fossilization.  The very tip of the tail fin was carved in by the original Brazilian preparator, and I left it in place as it seems to make the specimen look better on exhibit.
