This specimen is complete.
Both free cheeks are tightly in place. The bug is semi prone, with the
head laying flat on the matrix, and the pygidium is tucked underneath.
The shell is very pitted, as if it had tiny flecks of oxidizing
marcasite covering it. This is an interesting specimen that displays
well. Folks visiting my lab have all focused in on this bug and
commented how nice it looks.
The black color does contrast profoundly with the rich
grey shale.
