Presented is an Amecephalus from the Spence Shale in Idaho. The
specimen is presented as a part and counterpart, which make a really
nice open-book display. The but is complete, but part of the cephalon
is in the negative, as is most of the shell. This matrix does not
easily move shell from one piece to another, so this is the best
presentation of a very interesting species. Making this specimen most
interesting, it comes from the Spence Shale type locality as it was
described by Charles Walcott.
The specimen was obtained from an old collection. There appears to be
no restoration to either the bug or the matrix.
The pictures illustrate the quality of this piece.
