This is a magnificent and beautiful,
large, complete, highly three dimensional brachiopod from the famous
Silica Shale in Sylvania, Ohio. The specimen is highly pyritized and is
a bit heavy. There is a nice sized colony of epifaunal coral Aulopora
and a small bit of bryozoa epifauna.
This brachiopod was prepared by Marc Behrendt. It has no restoration.
