Featured is a nice Devonian
trilobite, Kettneraspis williamsi from the famous Haragan Shale in
Clarita, Oklahoma.
This
trilobite is essentially complete. Most of the spines are fully
present, with the exception of the first 3 spines on the left side.
What is odd about this specimen, as well preserved the spines are, the
stalked eyes are missing. The pygidium and spines are present. The
pygidial spines have a mark on them from when some debris on top of them
was removed. This is a very nice example of an uncommon spiny
trilobite.
This specimen was professionally prepared by Marc Behrendt and has no
restoration to the bug or matrix.
The pictures illustrate the quality of this piece.
