Featured is a beautiful, prone, 3D
Devonian trilobite, Huntonia oklahomae, collected from the famous Bois
d’Arc Formation in Clarita, Oklahoma. This dalmanitid’s faceted eyes
are nicely preserved. There is a brachiopod at the trilobite’s nose.
The specimen is complete. The genal spines, the
pygidial spine, and the cephalic processes are present. The only flaw
is a tiny chip of shell missing from the left thorax.
This specimen was obtained from an old collection. I
reprepped the specimen to clean out the grooves and smooth out the
matrix. This is a very fine piece!
